New CEO Appointed at The Star Entertainment Group’s Brisbane Location

Daniel Finch has assumed the position of Chief Executive Officer at The Star Entertainment Group’s Brisbane location, bringing extensive experience to his new role.

Finch possesses over twenty years in the travel and hospitality industries, having held executive roles at renowned establishments such as London’s Millennium Mayfair Hotel and Brisbane’s Sofitel Central. His notable background also includes overseeing national sales and revenue for Constellation Hotels and acting as Managing Director for Expedia Australia for almost a decade. This broad experience has allowed him to navigate the industry throughout Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and Asia.

Finch’s appointment follows Jessica Mellor’s promotion to Chief Executive Officer of The Star’s Gold Coast operations in October. Robbie Cooke, Group CEO and Managing Director of The Star, emphasized their approach of establishing robust leadership in each of their primary locations: Sydney, Gold Coast, and Brisbane. The search for a Sydney CEO is currently in progress.

Cooke stressed the importance of Finch’s proficiency in introducing new properties, particularly pertinent considering the forthcoming openings of The Star Brisbane and the Queen’s Wharf district. This strategic placement indicates promising advancements for The Star Entertainment Group as they broaden their footprint within the Australian market.

Ken Finch shared his enthusiasm for becoming a part of The Star Entertainment Group at this crucial juncture, highlighting the importance of the imminent Queen’s Wharf Brisbane opening. He’s keen on fostering a climate of exceptionalism within the staff, guaranteeing a top-tier encounter for the anticipated millions of yearly guests. Finch is slated to formally assume his position in the middle of February.
